Automated People Mover Standards (ASCE 21-05 (Part 1); ANSI/ASCE/T&DI 21.2-08, 21.3-08 and 21.4-0). Automated People Mover Standards establishes the minimum requirements for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of automated people mover (APM) systems. Collectively, this four volume standard presents the requirements to assure the safety and performance of APM systems. This set contains all four parts of ANSI/ASCE/T&DI Standard 21. Part 1 (21-05) covers operating environment, safety, system dependability, automatic train control and communications. Part 2 (21.2-08) provides information on vehicles and propulsion and braking Systems (PBS). Part 3 (21.3-08) covers electrical systems, stations and guideways. Part 4 covers security, emergency preparedness, system demonstration and verification, operations and maintenance issues, and three annexes. This Standard will be useful to transportation engineers, safety engineers and contractors of APM systems, as well as to anyone who owns, operates, builds, maintains, designs, tests, insures, oversees or certifies APMs or other innovative technology transit systems, such as magnetic levitation, air cushion and monorail systems.
