Information About AWT Technical Reference and Training Manual
AWT Technical Reference and Training Manual serves as both a water treatment resource in the field and as a curriculum for training new water treatment professionals. It includes technical references and articles for further study. Each chapter has review questions for the readers to test their knowledge and ensure proper understanding of important information.
AWT Technical Reference and Training Manual addresses four interrelated objectives of water treatment:
- To keep heat transfer equipment as clean as possible, in order to maximize water flow and heat transfer efficiency
- To protect the heat transfer equipment and associated piping from corrosion and fouling damage
- To conserve water and heat, and to meet or surpass all applicable air and water quality regulations
- To accomplish all of this in the most technically appropriate, safe and cost-effective way possible, in the best interests of the customer.
The following commercial and industrial water systems are explained in detail:
- Cooling systems for HVAC systems, chillers, reaction kettles, furnace systems and doors, engine jackets, and steam condensers in electric generating plants
- Heating and steam generating systems for space heating/humidity control, industrial process heating, and steam to drive turbines for electric power generation
- The business of water treatment, including external treatment, or pretreatment, before the water is used, internal treatment of boiler and cooling water while it is use, and waste water treatment to make water removed from the system suitable for either discharge or reuse.
