California Manual of Temporary Traffic Controls for Construction and Maintenance Work Zones

On September 26, 2006, the California Department of Transportation replaced the Caltrans Traffic Manual with a NEW California Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

Now, in cooperation with Caltrans, BNi has just released a Special Edition of Part 6 of this publication: the Manual of Traffic Controls for Construction and Maintenance Work Zones, packaged in a 200-page take-it-anywhere pocket volume!

The "MTC" is specially designed for use on the jobsite. It is loaded with full color illustrations and it is clearly indexed to guide you to the information you need quickly.  It covers every aspect of temporary traffic controls on state and county highways - from tapers, diversions and detours to hand signaling controls, barricades, lighting devices and sign placement.

What's more, there are dozens of pages of full-color illustrations detailing all sorts of lane closures, pedestrian detours, blasting operations, shoulder work, and much more.  You'll see what signs to use, where to place them, the size of buffer zones, channelizer and barricade placement, plus the position of warning flashers and other devices.
